C:F at TEDxLjubljanaWomen

by Dan Croitoru on 6th December, 2010 at 6:32 PM CEST

Dear all,

It is my great honor and pleasure to say a few words about someone special. She is the person that always has a smile on, brings happiness every time she enters the office and most of all she gives us the boost and necessary daily dose of joy to go on. Not only she has a lot of positive energy to share but she’s the type of person that catches your attention and heart from the very beginning.

Even if the description above would apply to everyone @ChallengeFuture, this time I would like to nominate Nadya Zhexembayeva, Challenge:Future Vice President Knowledge & Development. If you wonder what got into me and what’s with all the sincerity behind this post, I must say I was waiting for a good pretext to speak about Nadya :)

And the pretext came in time: on Wednesday, 8 December 2010 she is going to have a great talk at the TEDxLjubljanaWomen, a 2 day event that will broadcast live TEDxWomen in Washington and also have 3 live speakers. With a topic like ‘I have nothing to say about women’, I’m sure Nadya will enchant the audience with her presence and interesting facts and I’m really looking forward to seeing her talk live. Want to join me? Get your free pass here.

To give you a sneak peak, I managed to steal a couple of minutes and thoughts from Nadya and get some insights on her upcoming performance. So here is what I found:

How did you become a speaker at TEDxLjubljanaWomen?

One of the TEDx Lju team members saw me speak at the 2010 IBM Forum, and asked to come as a guest for the Fall TEDx Ljubljana. After a great Sunday afternoon of inspiring talks I got an email with an invitation - and was happy to accept. But the team is very diligent - so we met in person, discussed all the details, and only then confirmed the talk.

Why this topic :’I have nothing to say about women’?

Well, for that you will have to wait - and join us live or via video. But in all honesty - that was the very first thing that came to my mind when I was asked to speak at an event under the 'women' tag. And since it is happening globally in many locations at the same time, I can't wait to hear to all the different takes on the same theme.

I’ve heard you will also talk about Challenge:Future. How does it relate to the topic?

Chalenge:Future is a unique organization, and much of its daily life is unknown. In a way, it is a real miracle - and I want to share little bits of this miracle with the audience.

Any advice for the young women that want to challenge the future?

Advice I have for women is the same is I have for man: dream big. Make sure to have at least one good laugh every day. Sing in the shower. Do something. And don't forget to call people you love.

After watching Nadya’s live performance at the 18th CEEMAN Annual Conference, I have to admit that the energy she transmits, the way she engages the audience, the naturalness of her speech makes her talk at TEDxLjubljanaWomen a musn’t miss event.

See you there!
