Challenge:Future goes Local!

by C:F Team on 19th January, 2011 at 6:20 PM CEST

We are delighted to officially announce the successful implementation of the Challenge:Future Chapters Network. The Network already gathers chapters from 10 countries all over the world including Turkey, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Dominican Republic, Pakistan, Russia, Denmark, Slovenia, Montenegro and India.

C:F Chapters are making local impact on a global scale and are raising peoples’ awareness about sustainability related topics. They are also involved in knowledge sharing and in finding, recognizing and developing talented people who can shape the future by challenging the present.

Up to now, ten Challenge:Future alumni from the C:F Competition 2010 & Summit 2010 were selected to become Chapter Presidents and to set up chapters in their schools. Simona Atanasova, C:F Competition 2010 finalist, successfully established a C:F Chapter at the American University in Bulgaria. With a high dose of enthusiasm, during the first meeting of her chapter’s core team, she announced that the C:F Chapters Network  “is a great opportunity for students to have C:F experience not just by participating in the competition but also on daily basis through working on local projects and initiatives.” More information and reactions from the American University in Bulgaria can be found in the article here

Many of the chapters launched recruitment campaigns in their schools releasing posters, leaflets, and having special presentations about Challenge:Future and the Chapters Network. Damla Aktan, the President of the C:F Chapter at the Izmir University of Economics, Turkey, gathered around 24 members and immediately jumped into implementing activities.

They organized a lecture in their school about "CREATIVITY For A Better LIFE" having as speaker the famous Turkish scholar Taylan Demirkaya. Damla believes that the C:F Chapters Network is “much more than a ‘hope’ for creating unity all around the world despite the invisible borders. It is the courage that the youth needs to reach their dreams in a better world that works for all.”

C:F Chapters are recruiting new members, promoting the C:F Competition 2011, facilitating the access of participants in the competition and helping with teams creation. Each chapter innovates and implements sustainability projects and events and are also involved in the implementation phase of global projects together with other chapters.

If you have any suggestions or questions about the C:F Chapters Network, you can get in touch with Zhikica Pagovski, Challenge:Future Chapters Network President, at zhikica [at] challengefuture.org

The C:F Chapters Network will soon open 10 more chapters. Keep your eyes on us because an Application Call for Chapter Presidents is coming soon!

Dear Mrs. Andrea Kodrin, you inspired us in such a beautiful way that it was a pleasure for all of us to give you such feedbacks...We would love to make even much more! This feeling of 'unity' and "global oneness" all around the world despite the invisible borders is the real inspiration for all of us. Thank you, too, for changing the lives of each of us!
