Wild Thinking on C:F Summit 2012

by Ivan Repenko on 15th July, 2011 at 11:07 AM CEST

Do you know that the most contributing Action Team and Chapter members, top competitors in main and quick challenges as well as many outstanding youths will gather for our C:F Summit 2012? Yes, the team spurred on by the wacky and creative brains of the C:F Explorers, we already got busy brainstorming for ideas and we welcome the entire C:F Community to join in and add to this as well! Want a glimpse of the C:F Summit 2010? Here's it and if you want, go ahead a nudge any alumni to share with you their story of a life-changing youthful experience at the C:F Summit!

In this particular discussion our mission was to come up with several ideas concerning the future Summit 2012 and answer the following questions:

1. What knowledge, open dialogues are you expecting from C:F Academy that will be held during the C:F Summit? What do you think of the themes like "Towards Smart, Sustainable and Inclusive Future”?

Social entrepreneurship, Recycling + Waste Reduction, Share C:F Chapters experience, Tips Of the Week (make a booklet), Peace and Development, Nature, Leadership, Successful implementation of projects (Project management), Site development, - Share experience between different countries on topics like Poverty, Environment, Education, Sustainable Development (What are the way of living we should stick to in order to achieve the future we want to live in?)

Also it was proposed to realize at least one practical project during Summit 2012 as a real deed or outcome. The possible projects are: to plant trees (International C:F Alley with trees from different countries), to clean up the environment, to shoot a film about sustainable development, etc.

2. Which speakers you would like to see at the C:F Summit 2012?

Bill Drayton, Muhammad Yunus, Louis PalmerBo SanchezAngelo Sotira, John Paul Thornthon, Wayne Cordeiro, Al GoreJim CollinPaulo CoelhoAbdul Sattar EdhiBill Gates

3. Propose at least two 30 min activities that the summit participants can do for various activities such as ice breakers, reflections and sharing etc. What other activities would you like to experience and participate that can be potentially life-changing?

some practical events, small projects during the Summit, morning exercises, Tip of the Day, cultural night, bonfire, tree planting, BBQ after-summit event with mini games, 15 minutes questioning a speaker and then debate about the topic for 15 min with your team.

4. The youths will not only attend the Summit, but physically lead the activities. What activities should the youths lead? E.g. panels, speakers, etc

leading panels and discussions, leading morning exercises, host the event, volunteers to deal with catering, ignite C:F Summit 2012Dactions for open source design sessions

5. Is the C:F Summit important to you? Why? How would you differentiate the C:F Summit from any other event?

It is the place where people interact with each other, share knowledge, learn from each other and apply gained knowledge to their daily life. It is the place where people join their efforts so that to build the future they all want to live in. The summit will be a great aid to know everyone and it will surely bring people closer, connecting us for a better future.

6. What tangible impact/follow-ups can be done after C:F Summit for better world?

It was proposed to implement several small projects during the Summit as a practical part of the event and then realized them after the Summit in different countries and regions. We can record the events happened in the CF Summit and disseminate it around the Chapters. We can also have re-echoes where participants can share to their respective communities the things that they will experience in the summit. So, the domino effect should start from the summit itself, and that some speakers should really initiate something. A small action to motivate the few at the Summit will ripple throughout the world.

Thank you, guys - Afrah, Jude and Denis for coming up with the above great points! Now we ask you - what you would like to add and see at the C:F Summit 2012? Yes, we the youths decide that!

Hey Ivan, Afrah, Denis and Jude! These are really amazing ideas and thanks for the setting such a creative C:F Explorer team!

Here are my ideas to add on:

2. Speakers: Edward de Bono, Nadya (our C:F VP)

3. Video reflections E.g. watch a 5 mins max videos like Pale Blue Dot by Carl Sagan taken when Voyager 1 took a look back at the Earth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =8Lm6pEhykhs

4. Debates guys!!

What else guys? Add on ;-)

"only 1" expectation... sharing should be from within - "REAL" one ... Let me share recent exp:

I was at SAARC leaders meet and it was for 6 days.. when day 2 was about to finish, Abhishek (organiser) came on the stage and told all that I am NOT satisfied / comfortable with the progress of this conference/// ------- its so artificial & unreal illogical discussions -- I want you all to share what you feel in "REAL"... no formal stuffsss at all.. (i still remember - i started with blazer and ended with t funky tshirt and 3 sleepless nights for REAL sharing & action based projects) ..............

n ya I already Submitted my answers... :)

First thing I would like to say is BRAVO for letting the youth decide what activities they want to have in the summit and for what reason basically we are uniting.

Excellent Idea !!

All the brainstorming done above is well thought and designed. But if someone would like to ask me, Jennifer why would you like to join a summit. My only answer would be to support my cause.

I am looking forward to meet the international community, to please come forward and support us. Every Skill that can be beneficial to make my project a success ... Would be great.

Project handling skills, how to run donation campaigns, how to create a better proposal, how to approach sponsors ..... will be a great plus plus for me
