Thank You Action Team #5 Youth Judges!

by Aik Heng Yap on 19th August, 2011 at 9:14 AM CEST

The Action Team #5, Youth Judges is an initiative born from the belief that youths should be included at every step of the competition, even in the judging process. Of the many applicants, the 13 below were chosen to participate in the grading of the semi-final solutions.

The youth judges come from a diversity of cultural and educational backgrounds, and all are familiar with the values of C:F (if they're not past participants themselves). Whilst their work for the semi-finals have been completed (many thanks for their efforts), some amongst them will be chosen as Youth Judges for the finals in Bled this year, so you can look forward to actually meeting some of them at the summit!

Now, let's say a warm welcome to all the 13 Youth Judges of the Finals round!

Jude - Needs no further introduction. Action Group Leader and CF Intern, majors in Multimedia and Arts at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University in the Philippines.

Jehangir - Mech Engineering major from Pakistan who doesn't play golf despite appearing to do so in his profile picture.

Saad - Our funny guy from Pakistan, who also happens to be a member of the previous Youth Advisory Board.

Divya - International Relations graduate from India and is currently working for an environmental group with rural communities to combat climate change by providing them with renewable energy solutions.

Zhikica - From Macedonia, our dear Chapters Network President who also happens to be a finalist last year.

Long Le - Vietnamese who is currently living in Madison, US and was a finalist last year (along with Giao Le).

Giao Le - Vietnamese in Singapore, who graduated with a Bachelor in Operations Management and Finance recently (congrats!). Claims that she can't ride a scooter though she's from Vietnam (pretty unbelievable for those who are even remotely familiar with the country).

Lucian - Hails from Romania, participant of the inaugural C:F summit last year.

Yen Ching - Comes from Malaysia and our winner from last year. Currently working for a firm that provides consultancy services for urban development projects in Singapore.

Huei Ming -  Also Malaysian and a finalist last year (with Veera and Ibnur). Currently a full time Teaching Assistant at the National University of Singapore. Works with lasers and other high tech STUFF (like you know.. STUFF).

Veera - Mech Engineering graduate from Singapore and also a finalist last year. Currently involved in starting up a prototyping studio centered around sustainable product design and artwork.

Ibnur -  Finalist last year and aa Engineering Science graduate from Singapore. Experience in conducting field assessments in urban and rural environments for developmental projects.

Jan - Participant in the C:F summit last year from Poland. Working in IT now and believes that there is no meaning in life (it's not all that negative though, ask him if you have the chance).

Thank you so much to each and every youth judges without whom this competition and the announcement of the finalists wouldn't have been possible! I was very happy to be their Team Leader after my own stint as the Youth Judge at the C:F Summit 2010 itself!

Hope to see some of you Youth Judges at the next C:F Summit 2012! Good luck everyone ;-)
