A New HOT Interview with Sandra

by C:F Team on 12th September, 2011 at 2:43 PM CEST

The very nice weather in Ljubljana became more nice with the presence of our newest team member, Sandra! Let's have this opportunity to get to know her more and let's welcome her with our big, warm smiles and hugs. :)

1. Can you tell us more about yourself? Include a random and fun sharing about yourself :)
Call me Sandra. From the beautiful Baltic country, Latvia. I find myself as optimist and a world explorer. Still searching for the place I would like to settle down. For a couple of years already, I have a passion for marketing, public relations and especially social media. I cannot imagine myself without traveling. This summer will remain as the one where after 23 years of my life that I first time saw & touched the ocean. It was amazing! And I like less talking about myself than interacting with people.

2. When did you first encounter Challenge:Future? And what made you decide to be part of the awesome team of the CF Staffs? :)
Ever since i can remember, I always like to take part in different iniatives, contests and projects and CF was one of the many things I encountered 2 years ago. It all started when I joined the AIESEC Organization and after seeing a possibility of joining the CF Competition and became a team leader of a team with Dino Krcar then got into the semifinals.

I am also a big fan of arts, so I took part in some QCs where my entry was selected to be one of the best photos. I remember how happy I was back then since I also love to see my work evaluated. All in all, I was very active in different activities going on but unfortunately was not active enough to be the Sparks winner and to go to Bled. Nevertheless, after the first year of competition, I received an invitation from Maggie Peng asking me if I would like to do an internship and be part of C:F Staffs. Ofcourse I wanted to, but last Autumn was also a big break for me as I will be heading to ERASMUS exchange in Spain so I had to refuse it. But, it was never a "NO", somewhere in the air. When my studies in Spain were coming to an end, I had an opportunity to do an internship where ever place in Europe I want to. So this time it was my initiative asking C:F, if they are interested in recruiting me now. And you already know the answer. YES! I am here.

3. Tell us more about your first experiences in the sunny Ljubljana and your first few days in the CF Office. Can you also tell us the nature of your work in there?
In my first working day, my first task was to write the cards which will be sent to the QC winners. And now they are travelling to the lucky C:F members, and I still feel excited that someone will read the nice cards done by me.

All in all, C:F so far has been very amazing. I already felt this before, but now I am really sure that CF's a great family to be part of. Each person is passionate with what they are doing. And the thing I like the most is, people can still be creative and let their ideas grow, amidst the day to day duties that they always do.

4. What are your personal goals in relation to the whole Challenge:Future community? How will your internship experience help you in achieving those things?
Wow, this is though one. I am happy to see so many of young ones,(it does not mean that I am old ) interested in future preservation and development. And as well the nice communication and actions going on in C:F. Nevertheless, I would like to see the active community being even more diverse. Together with C:F stuff would like to bring to C:F platform more students of the countries that at the moment are lightly represented, like Scandinavian, Latin America, United states. Because I believe that there are also crowds of talented people who would like to take part of C:F, so far just somehow still haven’t discovered it.

5. How do you deal challenges in life? What is the greatest lesson that you learned that you wish to share to everyone?
I take them easy, with as less stress as possible. It helps to keep mind and spirit opened, so its easier to deal with challenges and in the same time learn on all you are doing. And nevertheless, I like time to time challenge myself with setting goals to achieve, so then I don’t deal exactly with challenge, but turn them into aim to achieve.

6. What do you want to tell our C:F fans?
I would like to remind to each and everyone - Everything is possible; you just have to really want it!

Do you have any questions for Sandra? :) Drop em below or you can just say your warmest congratulations for her! :)
