Learning with C:F

Challenge:Future is more than just a competition. It’s a place where we can spread imagination while participating in challenges, and have fun while learning about different cultures and so many things, from people all over world, while interact with each other beside challenges.

At the end of february 2011, I became a member of C:F community, and also joined in C:F Facebook Page, and very soon I had opportunity to chat with indeed amazing and great students from all around the world: India, Pakistan Turkey, Philippines, Costa Rica, Nigeria, countries from Balkan region, etc.

I had an opportunity to learn about so many different cultures. It’s always good to learn something new. And perfectly learned time zones, haha!... Also, you can learn that your name has a meaning in some other languages :)We talked about different things regarding our school staffs and believe it or not I continue to be amazed with all that new things that i had opportunity to discover.

Want to share some of that here too: academic year starts in most countries in September, but in some parts of the world it starts in August, in some in June, in some in January... and i didn’t know that before.

Then I mentioned that languages are my big passion, and soon found out that few of other members are also interested in learning new languages. Then learning & teaching process begun.

Thanks to my friends from Costa Rica I could practice my Spanish. Danna (Philippines) and Afrah (Pakistan) are also great in teaching me new words.

But my truly amazing (jakass*hindi, kahanga-hanga*tagalog, chudesna*montenegrin) teacher was Reena from India. We both have great time when teaching and learning Hindi and Montenegrin. With Reena I learned about Indian culture and tradition too. Both of us are quick learners, so few weeks after that, our friends were amazed. They couldn’t believe that we are progressing that fast.

After that I learned to say some basic words in so many languages. For example: thanks = dhanyawaad (hindi), shukriya (urdu), Gracias (spanish), grazie (italian), mersi (romanian), ose (if you are in Nigeria), salamat (if you are in Philippines)... and I taught them that if you are in Montenegro, you will say: hvala.

I am very happy because of being member of C:F family. Do not mention how big pleasure is to be a:

  • Chapter President and meet great and innovative students from my faculty
  • Chapter’s Board member and help new chapters
  • and being in action team is amazing, because it helped me to discover my new passion – writing

Challenge Future is more than just a competition. And as more you are active in challenges and meeting new C:F friends, you have more chances to discover all beauty of C:F. And there are so many challenges! Go check them out!

What have you learned thanks to C:F? And what is your advice on how to activate all those thousands of inactive community members?

Congratz Jovana!!! Nice article!! C:F is special and its members make it even more. Being part of this community, I have fostered knowledge in a global persective, boosted ideas to translate into realtistic actions through the challenging QC's, improved my writing and communication skills through the Action Teams and Local Representative outreach activities. Also, it has helped me to reach decision makers from my country, internationally, and now, renowned people at my University and remarkable business people in the city of Stuttgart.

Last, but not least, I have had the chance to meet so many remarkable youth from around the world, each one with an amazing life story and strong conviction to do something positive to preserve humanity and next generations on EARTH.

I think, it is a privilege being a C:F member.

Well, this is all, for now :)
All the best!!!
