I look into the mirror,

I see me.

A clear autobiography of myself.

The details of my imperfections,

made perfect by my perception.

I look into the mirror,

I see you.

You wasn’t like this before.

The craftsmanship of your hand

trying to perfect your outward self.

The details of your perfection,

made imperfect by your attention.

Your masterpiece, now part of the masquerade.

Fable…

How far will you go?

How long will you conform?

The mirror uncluttered;

The mask right there.

Psychedelic face.

Quiescence …

Silently staring at you.

You want to be me.

I want to be I.

I’ll leave myself to natures grasp.

Let it bedizen me with reality.

I look into the mirror;

The mask eradicated.

I see me…

A fractal reflection in the depths of my glowing eyes

and the ethereal beauty of the soul.

Colour pastel, powder smell…

Vanquished in the air.

I’m glad to be free.

Delighted to be me.

You look into the mirror, what do you see?

Mirrors are interesting subjects Gloria! Borges finds them as one of his three obsessive metaphors. The first is the library, that literature is one huge library. Then, museums... they are the memory of human kind and third is the mirror.. where you can identify yourself :)

Great piece of poetry!

Cheers,
Stefan

Truly, each of us is what they think or believe they are. Gloria, this a masterpiece! Brilliantly said: "The details of my imperfections, made perfect by my perception." It's all about our perceptions!

You look into the mirror, what do you see?

I see acceptance, I see love, I see a reflection "made perfect by my perception"....lol

This is a poem created for those days when you just can't look into the mirror...and after reading this, you might just give that person looking back at you at hug and kisses.

Do you know what i understand from this poem?

You can`t just watch once youself at the mirror and think i know how i look. And that we should always repeat the last sentence of your song everytime we stand in front of a mirror.
Our reflection is important.
Good one.

mirrors give us a false sense of confidence bcz The reflection that we see everyday has nothing to do with how others see us..
