International Conference on Social Innovations

Across the world, millions of people are creating better ways to tackle some of the most challenging social problems of our times. This is why Social Innovation came to life. The current financial and economic crisis makes it more important than ever. To boost social innovation in Pakistan, Challenge Futue& 180 Degrees Consulting Pakistan in collaboration with SDPI (Sustainable Development Policy Institute) organized 2 days conference on 22nd& 23rd February 2013. The conference was organized jointly by the team of Challenge: Future (C: F Professionals Forum Pakistan Chapter) and 180 Degrees Consulting Pakistan led by Faisal Imtiaz. It was an event that blended fun, learning & innovations. 


Every great idea begins with a dreamer. Always remember you have within you the strength, the patience and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. The conference included keynote speeches from notable personalities, training sessions by some renowned trainers, skype sessions with Bistra Kumbaroska (Community Manager of Challenge:Future) and Nathniel Ware (CEO of 180 Degrees Consulting).

On the second day, the conference featured a Social Model Project Competition (Innovation Jam) where participants developed some remarkable projects. 

The Winning team of the competition with Chief Guest of closing ceremony Miss Aarfa Khalid (Member Provincial Assembly, Punjab, Pakistan). In her closing speech, Miss Aarfakhalid said: “I haven't attended any event in my life with such great innovative ideas."


With more than 50 participants, the event showed how innovative, inspiring and worthy are efforts done by Pakistan youth. The skills gained and the knowledge shared was of strong importance to everyone and the feedback after the conference wasthat such events need to be organized more often.
