Striving Towards Anarchy

So, here we are in the year of 2013. It is a matter of perspective whether one would say that the world has gone through one, two, three or five millennia of civilization. Regardless, the result is: 200+ states of people with "different" cultures, governed by different sets of rules, all of them unique in their own way, but all the same in reality. How come? Disregard the economic power of a state as a whole, and you end up with everyday people trying to go through life best as best they can. So, what difference does the political system make?

Let’s see in retrospect. History 1.0.1. In crude terms, humanity has gone through so many different systems, only to end up with the not so viable democracy of today. We started somewhere in autocracy, ruled by one man with all the strengths and weaknesses that one man can have. It went on for centuries (and it still exists today), but theocratic states have arisen afterwards… and despotism. A lot of violence and blood later, people have decided that enough is enough and they took the matters in their own hands… and did wrong… again! They took the power from the dudes that had the power of deciding for peoples’ lives by succession and gave it to the ones who had the dream of economics before they were smart enough to know about it. Yada yada yada, only slavery again, then some Nazism, fascism, communism, big ideas of socialism, capitalism, dictatorship here and there... years, years, years - DEMOCRACY! Yeah right! Listen and read the news for few days, but use more than a few different sources and you’ll see what democracy is.

Still not a trace of the title and anarchism, but I bet you see it. Anarchy, by definition, is a stateless system, rejecting all kinds of authority or even the slightest oppression. Before you say it, or even think of it, no, anarchy is not all violence, destruction and vandalism. Actually, it has very little to do with it. It has many variations, from collective to individual anarchism, but the core remains the same -ultimate freedom! Every person is responsible for what he/she wants and gets to choose right from wrong from a personal point of view. The world has no visible, nor socially or culturally set boundaries. So, what’s keeping us from it? Our own human nature, helped by people who have gains from this inert state of humanity. Greed, sloth, envy, destructiveness… No, you don’t need 50 million dollars to live, nor 5 houses, nor 10 cars. It’s not your friends’ fault that they get something you want, but cannot have. No, not everything in life is bread and butter. And, most importantly, the time is now - be the change and don’t leave it for the next generations.

You are still here? What are you waiting for?

The song goes:

"Come ride with me
Through the veins of history
I'll show you how god
Falls asleep on the job

And how can we win
When fools can be kings
Don't waste your time
Or time will waste you"

We've lost ourselves with our "inventions" and "kings" over the centuries...
