Donate to a charity “without” spending a dime

The internet can be a magical world if you know how to use it effectively you can do many things. Did you know that you can donate to charities just by using a search engine?

Well, that is now possible. Everyone with an internet connection can donate to charities without spending a dime. Benjamin Franklin once said, “Time is money”. That can be objected since money is money and time is time. You can though, make it a fact by using the time you research in the internet to generate money for charities.

Have a look at the process you can follow:

  1. Research and choose the search engine of your choice.
  2. Decide if you would like to make that search engine your default search engine or you prefer to bookmark it and use it from time to time.
  3. Think of which charities you would love to contribute to and list them
  4. Search on  your engine and use the money you generate to contribute to the cause you love!

Let’s navigate through one of the  options I personally find appealing...

Sleio is one of such search engines; It is the one that seems the most appealing to me; not only does it give 100% of its profits to causes you love: it also has a beautiful user interface.

You can even select the charity you want to donate to and see how much money you have gathered by your searches. The downside of Sleio is that, it  gives you no freedom to select a charity that is not listed by them. You can see few of the charities you can donate to below.

Each search engine (SE) offers a difference percentage or amount for each search. Research, ensure the validity of it, check their about/FAQ pages and see which one fits the best for you.

Education - Food - Water - Money

Environmentally friendly ( donates 80% of its income to a tree planting program in Brazil)

Donates 10 grains of rice with every search

That is another way to make positive impact in the world. What do you think about this?

This is definitely an amazing initiative as many times we do get held back in getting involved as there are more things fighting to get the money in our pockets but there are other resource we have that be used - skills, time, efforts/energy, and even network - knowing someone else who could actually be a better fit to help in that situation.
