by C:F Team on 16th July, 2015 at 1:33 PM CEST

Following the announcement of the first winner of 100$ for a best local event and highlight other runner-ups, we take the occasion today to announce the winner of round 2!!! Aside winner, we announce all the shortlisted candidates who were in the tight run, all of whom including winner were asked to prepare short action plan and timeline of how they will implement their local event. Based on the votes of judges and community attention, let’s not prolong it not for a minute anymore, but give a BIG ROUND OF APPLAUSE to:

DANNA JOYCE CHAVEZ from the Phillippines and her idea "Back to school program"

"The school year in the Philippines has just started, though public elementary schools offer free tuition, many kids are still unable to attend classes, mainly with the reason of lack of food and school supplies. I have a team who has done a number of feeding programs to the less fortunate and we would be happy to also provide them with school supplies to help them attend school. "The youth is the hope of our future" as what Jose Rizal has said."

It is Danna who will recieve the 100$ prize from this challenge, so warm congratulations!!!

We would also like to highlight 3 more amazing ideas who were shortlisted and in the close run for the 100$!! Please let’s give a warm round of applause also to these guys who rocked the competition:

To Stephanie Haan from KENYA and her original idea of “Greenetry (green poetry)

“In the spirit of enhancing social diversity, I would like to host a green poetry event that will enlighten both children and the youth on matters environment in a fun and involving way.Tell me and I will know, show me and I will remember, involve me and I will understand. So if people(5yrs to 30yrs) can write and recite it, then they will definitely relate and understand the environment, the importance of caring for it and even how to go about it as well as the consequences of ignoring it.”

To Ante Begic from Bosnia and Herzegovina for his project idea Put the children's joy

The project was conceived as a way to develop socialization skills of children and young people from rural areas, especially in those with mild or more severe communication problems and develop friendly relations with others. The main objective of the project is to children, through interactive games, useful communication and creative workshops, and lectures, led by volunteers, to point out the ways to communicate, which means to befriend, how to communicate with adults, with peers, with teacher

To Silviya Naydenova from BULGARIA and her event submission “Run For Change

"We plan to make a change by helping people get engaged in politics and the decision making process in order to create awaremess. We will create a chalange in which every team that participates will be given 10 dollars, with wich they will have to do something which is similar to the functions and responsibilities of the mayor or the local authorities. Every team will have 5 days to do this and in the end each team will be awarded with a sertificate for their contribution. "

Thanks to everyone who participated and co-created a space of powerful and impactful event ideas. We will proceed with the third round of this 100$ challenge in autumn. Until then, stay tuned!!
