In 2014, C:F has launched its baby project Growr and as of September, 2015 it is under directorship within the C:F IMPACT program. This makes one of the biggest running directorships of C:F IMPACT, growring an amazing global community for education and career growth with peer-to-peer mentorship for real-world skills.
Few important Q/A before we take you to the challenge:
Why becoming mentor at Growr?
Our answer has been the following: Because mentoring is inspiring, motivating, life-changing, challenging and noble; it opens possibility for you to explore, research and learn in such unconventional ways... and the reasons can only multiply as we speak. The best way to confirm your understanding of something is to share it with someone else. And don't forget that we all have things we are passionate about and we all have valuable knowledge to share. So, why keep it to ourselves only?
Why becoming Mentee at Growr?
Our answer has been the following: Because you will gain the support, advice, encouragement, and even friendship from amazing peers and experts around the globe! You will find someone who will care about you as the whole person, not just the academic or career side of you. You will explore and collaborate with mentors from completely different cultures, countries and continents. Last but not least, we all need each other to fulfill our individual potentials and we need to be part of something bigger. It IS not only helping us to reach our goals, but even more significantly, we'll never be alone.
How we define Peer-Mentorship?
Our answer has been the following: The peer-to-peer mentoring is a relation of mutual learning and friendship. The peer-mentor will care for the whole person of its peer-mentee, not just their academic or career side. The peer-mentor will also seriously take the task to support the mentee, to challenge him/her with new ideas, and to encourage the mentee to move beyond the things that are most comfortable; to push this person out of their comfort zone. Most peer-mentors are picked for their confidence, empathy, social skills and reliability.
Here yet another challenge for you: we have answered why to become mentor or mentee, and this may have already sparkled some ideas in your head! Now, it’s your turn to finish and enrich the answers. Co-create and identify with us, what’s the IDEAL profile of the mentor / mentee to be on Growr!
What are we asking for?
Wе’re inviting you to think about how you can learn and benefit best if you were to have the best mentor you can possibly imagine OR how you could gain your personal knowledge by being the best possible mentee.
